Job Summary:: 

ATWORK Personnel is now hiring for an entry level bookkeeper!  This is an excellent opportunity to stretch your basic accounting skills with a great company! Work involves maintaining bookkeeping records for a single office or function, or performing the less complex bookkeeping work relating to company funds. Work is performed under the supervision of a accounting or administrative superior.  Assignments are routine in nature and are carried out in accordance with general work instructions and established bookkeeping practices, procedures, and precedents.

As a bookkeeper, you must be a self-motivated, energetic, and ready to be a part of a growing office team.  You must be a positive, account-oriented team player who is also able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.   

Job Description:

You must present a professional image and great communication skills, both written and verbal.  You will be responsible for many office duties.  These duties include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Balances remittances received for licenses, taxes, and other fees with cashier records
  • Prepares detailed distribution of remittances according to type of fee; posts to ledger or worksheets; prepares bank deposit slips
  • Distributes tax collection receipts between state and local taxing authorities; disburses funds to local taxing authorities; posts summarization of receipts and disbursements to ledgers
  • Issues receipts and posts to books or ledgers
  • Coordinates the activities of, and provides semiprofessional service to, university committees
  • Posts accounting data to ledgers and journals; checks accounting classifications, bills, and invoices for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepares routine financial statements and reports
  • Working on a quick-books – an accounting software 
  • Working on a computer using mostly on Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel programs
  • Prepares routine financial statements and reports

What We Need From You:

  • Must have at least 1 years of recent accounting experience 
  • Quick-books or equivalent accounting software experience preferred
  • Must have at least an intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision 
  • Knowledge of general clerical procedures and protocol 
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and/or background check 
  • Must be able to provide 3 positive work references
